EEPD. Volume 9. Leaflet Links.

B. Checklist on Availability

of Local O & G Leaflets (In Prep)

Having been interested in the availability of patient information leaflets for many years (partly as a result of being on the RCOG Audit Committee), based on the leaflets I have collected in the many different hospitals where I have worked, I have slowly been creating a list of all the leaflets which probably ought to be immediately available in all good O & G departments. This list is now being made available through the EEPD to allow each hospital to check which leaflets are missing from those currently available locally.

It will also hopefully in time encourage a move away from the present chaos - since, far too often, where and when each leaflet is actually available and used is a matter of pure chance. So many different leaflets are now needed that, in the long term, the only solution is to have all such leaflets available through the local hospital intranet, and eventually with each appropriate leaflet being offered exactly when needed as an integral part of each “Realistic Input-Output Opportunity” (R.I.O.)
